Nicoletta Backhaus brings a wealth of expertise and client-facing experience to projects centred on the regulation of banks, payment service providers, and insurance companies, as well as the implementation of information security systems. Within secori, she has played a key role in strategic initiatives such as the establishment of an Internal Control System (ICS) and conducting research into the impact and application areas of artificial intelligence in the field of information security.

Nicoletta pursued her Master’s degree in International Security and Law (University of Southern Denmark), where she focused on information and cyber security and its relevance within contemporary economic and societal systems. She translated her academic insights into practice as a Project Manager at the German Atlantic Association in Berlin, where she curated a nationwide event series exploring the geopolitical ramifications of the U.S. presidential election.

Before joining secori, Nicoletta worked in public affairs, advocacy, and public relations as a consultant at APCO Worldwide. In this capacity, she advised clients in highly regulated sectors, including global technology companies, security and defence groups, and pharmaceutical firms.
